Generel description
The Study on Secondary Trauma was performed among local interviewers engaged in the quantitative population survey and explores how they are psychologically affected by their work. Working with challenged populations can have implications on those involved, and the risk of secondary trauma among research personnel is a factor that continuously must be taken into account.
The study used the Professional Quality of Life Scale questionnaire (ProQOL), which measures secondary traumatic stress, burnout, and compassion satisfaction. As part of this, The English version 5 of the instrument was translated into Spanish and supplemented by an open-ended question. 20 out of 24 invited interviewers participated in the study, and an article with the final results is currently in review at a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
