Project areas

The project will take place in five selected areas: Bolívar, Cauca, Meta, Putumayo and Tolima.

Selection process: The departments and municipalities were carefully selected following a 2-step process. First, the different departamentos and municipalities in the country were characterized based on data from the plethora of official databases in the country. Based on these characteristics, which included level of conflict and mental health, 5 project departments were selected

Second, all municipalities in the project department were analyzed based on similar characteristics as before, and grouped into groups of either high, medium or low presence of conflict and general hardship. The aim was to have 2 high level and one medium level municipality within each department. Considerations such as safety and logistics were considered when selecting the final 3 municipalities in each department, resulting in 15 in total.
