The mental health survey was a mixed methods study, conducted across all project municipalities.

The quantitative survey was carried out as a household survey based on a comprehensive 140-item questionnaire which included a wide range of socio-demographic data, data on stigmatization and discrimination and victimization, measures of social capital, traumatic experiences, resilience and mental health. 24 local interviewers with prior experience in the field or mental health and/ or social work collected the information through face-to-face interviews in the participants’  won homes from January to October 2021. The interviews usually lasted between 45 and 75 minutes.

The final cleaned dataset comprised 4480 respondents, after cleaning and verification of information. Overview of interview can be found HERE.

The Spanish paper-version of the questionnaire can be found HERE. It was, however, mostly applied through an online platform (Survey123) suitable for fieldwork in challenging circumstances, which was installed on tablets. In addition, a qualitative study was carried out in the same municipalities with 60 key informant interviews and 32 focus group discussions and in-depth interviews about the same topics. The qualitative interview guide can be provided upon request.
